Kacao would like to redesign their socials, and so that means a lot of work for me, as Kacao's main in house designer/social media manger! The first thing on our bucket list was to introduce Instagram story highlights to the Kacao page. Let's see how that went!
We kept it simple, with the usual Kacao colors of green and yellow. We want to use the highlights feature to be able to tell the story of the restaurant, as well as share the culture and food. Since we want people to know what Kacao is, and who's behind it, we made it a priority to start with our founder first!
These are the story highlights that tell the journey of Kacao's founder, Veronica. These images and text were originally used as an instagram post, but have now been reworked into the story format!
Our next challenge was taking on the menu. We were undecided if we should keep the menu within the highlights simple, or if we should just rework the menu to fit into a story format. In the beginning we went for something more colorful and busy.
We went through all the dishes and created images of them like these examples above. However, they didn't exactly work for Kacao's vision, so we went ahead and redid them! In this case, we ended up just going ahead and reworking the Actual menu into story format! No work wasted however, as the images that didn't work out provide great daily stories to post here and there!
These give a more professional and clear vibe!
During 2022, Cafe Kacao teamed up with a designer from El Salvador, Raquel Arana, to create some awesome merch! This included things like sketchbooks, purses, and aprons. My job now is to redesign all the instagram posts that had to do with the collaboration into instagram story highlights!
The funnest part of doing this was getting to know another Latin designer! To see two successful latin women working together was really inspiring!
The newest addition to our Instagram rework! These phrase images give us a good break in-between posts! both in Spanish and English of course!
